Country Artist David James Announces Release of EP “Downtown Kids”

Canadian country artist David James has announced his new sophomore EP “Downtown Kids” will be available on October 20th .

Produced by Dan Swinimer (Alee, JoJo Mason, Madeline Merlo) and released by MDM Recordings Inc./Universal Music Canada, the six-song EP id described as showcasing David James’ “melodic pop-rock infused country sensibilities and lyrically draws influence from both his personal and professional life”.

His earlier singles “Later” and “What If I Don’t” (video below) hit the airwaves earlier this year and James’ latest track “Sun Set On It” makes its way to Canadian country radio on October 20th.

The Manitoba native had a very successful 2016, following his signing with MDM Recordings Inc. That year included the release of his debut EP “Songs About A Girl”, which was recognized with two Canadian Country Music Association Award nominations, including one in the “Rising Star” category.

David James - Downtown KidsJames made his debut performance at the Boots and Hearts Music Festival, which led to a nomination for a Canadian Radio Music Award in the “Best New Group or Solo Artist: Country” category. He then hit the road with his award winning label mate Chad Brownlee before returning to the studio to work on the new EP.

David James will celebrate the release of “Downtown Kids” with a performance at Calgary’s Webber Academy Performing Arts Centre, as part of the live music broadcast series Stampede City Sessions, on October 21st.

The Stampede City Sessions episode featuring James will debut on PBS (KPBS) later this year with an expected audience of over 2 million viewers.
