The WhatsApp communication service has announced the launch of the WhatsApp Business app, a new product that will soon begin generating revenue for Facebook, the parent company that acquired the service for $ 19 billion in 2014.
The new WhatsApp Business app will connect business with consumers, enabling both small and large businesses to interact with its customers and also send out notifications and other important alerts.
The app will be free initially but WhatsApp plans to charge companies in the future – perhaps based on the number of users or a charge for each interaction. According to the company, over a billion people use WhatsApp each day.
