RELEASE – Singer-songwriter Lesley Pike is pleased to announce the release of her new album “Honey & Rust”, available August 31st via Fontana North.
Written and recorded between Toronto and London, England, the album features ten original tracks and includes collaborations with JUNO Award nominee Peter Katz, Reigning Days front man Daniel Steer, GRAMMY nominee Ari Hest and the UK’s beloved Jon Allen.
For “Honey & Rust”, Pike teamed up with Canadian producer Tim Abraham (Royal Wood, Peter Katz, Jadea Kelly) who worked on the majority of the tracks, with Allen co-producing “Dance Real Close” and a co-produce between Steer and Pike on “Muscle Memory” rounding it all out. The result is an album featuring Pike’s signature raw lyricism with a pop-rock infused throwback flavour; a blend of tracks that seamlessly transition from one to the next.
Known for her ability to blur the line between genres, heightened through years of song writing and touring, Pike has been described in the press as having the uncanny ability to translate half a minute of life experience into a profound musical statement. Her 2015 album “November” earned the Wilfrid Laurier Classical Music program alum critical acclaim, including a cover feature in the UK’s Acoustic Magazine and performances on Canada AM, BBC, CBC, SiriusXM and more.
Having shared the stage with such notable acts as Jason Mraz, Joan Osborne, Darius Rucker, Danny Michel and Jeremy Fisher, Pike is excited to once again showcase her musicality with the release of “Honey & Rust”. Fans can catch her on the road in Canada and the U.S. later this month with Chris Ayer before she heads overseas for a slew of European dates.
